Keep America GOOD!

I've been voting since the 1960 election. That year I voted for John F Kennedy for President, a great American, whose life was cut short by evil. And by the way if you don’t remember, he was a Democrat! I’m sure I voted more for the person than the party, and I’m guessing we usually do. But it's not a popularity contest. It's figuring out who has the most integrity and who's platform has our welfare at heart, vs who is trying to con us for their own gain.

For the first time in my life in the last few elections I see good vs evil as the choice. This signals a change not just in my thinking but in what is happening in our country. GOOD means a government whose policies show that it is caring for and responsive to the welfare of its people. Evil means those who pretend to care about us, but they lie - they just want power—permanent power. We used to have a choice between two or more parties that believed in our freedoms. Right now, sadly we only have one. One is intent on controlling us, permanently! They want to take away our control over our government and give them free rein over us and our property, forever!

I don’t like the fad of saying we are not a democracy. We are!! We are a republic that splits power to federal, state and local authorities, but that doesn't mean we are not a democracy. People should quit saying that! It weakens the cause of freedom! Yes, we are a form of democracy, just like communism is a form of socialism. We are a form of democracy wherein the people elect representatives who are supposed to represent the will of the people, not that they always do. It is at the local level that we come closer toward pure democracy.

When Winston Churchill said that democracy is the worst form of government there is, EXCEPT for all the others, he was using the word democracy in the general sense that it was intended to mean people controlling the government instead of government controlling the people. The definition of democracy is that simple!

He meant that. . .

1. All forms of government that are not subject to the will of the people are to be avoided at all costs. We can’t depend on any form of government we can’t control to care for our welfare. That includes dictators, kings, socialists, communists, etc. A caring ruler is rare and the goodness ends when he/she dies.

2. A government elected by the people is much superior and necessary for the welfare of the people. However, it is only as good as the wisdom, knowledge, attention and goodness of the voters – the people who put them in power.

What happens when the morality level of the people lessens? What happens when the people don’t even understand that its our separation of powers and bill of rights set up by our Constitution that makes our good life possible? What happens when the people take for granted the life we are living and think the freedoms and prosperity most of us enjoy will always be there for us and for our kids? What happens when good people don’t vote?

What happens is we don't get good government! That doesn't mean we should give up the system of government over which we DO have power and replace it with one we will NEVER have power over!?! That's what socialism is, whether you call it communism or any other name. It's a system of government you can't get rid of by voting. It will CONTROL YOU and not share with you. Maybe it just means we'd better pay attention, separate fact from propaganda and do a better job of being good citizens of the government we've got!

If you don’t believe me, ask the Ukrainians now engaged in warfare to defend against Russian take-over. Many of their ancestors were deliberately starved to death when communism gained control over the Soviet Union, which included Russia, Ukraine and more. They know what it was like to live under Communism. We must learn the lesson that they learned the hard way while we can still fight with ballots instead of with bullets! We must not repeat history!

The force of evil called communism has been working for decades inside America to dumb down our people, erode our morals, replace critical thinking with herd mentality, destroy the influence of family life and Christianity and replace it with dependence on and allegiance to big government. It is now joined by radical sects of Islam that are intent on killing us “infidels.” Some on the ballot this election want to get rid of the structure of our government that assures our control over it. The sanctity of human life is being eroded by those who would destroy our great experiment in self-rule and replace it with iron fist control over us and take away our right to share in the wealth.

I grew up in a 3-room house with water carried into the house by the bucket and warmed only on a cooking stove. With a pot-bellied stove and no AC, the outhouse down past the chicken yard. We did have electricity and a party-line telephone hanging on the wall. We weren't poor -- the economy in rural Missouri was just that way for most everyone in the 1940s and 1950s. Americans worked hard -- we had to -- and we were happy! And free!

Just look at the wealth, ingenuity, discoveries and advances our freedoms have given us since then! We have been blessed far beyond any generation anywhere anytime in the past to live here and now in history. But our democracy together with our free enterprise economy has given us such a good life that too many have become soft, lost the work ethic, more expectant of a hand out than a hand up. It is those Americans who are most vulnerable to biting the hand that feeds us.

Believe me when I say that allegiance to the United States Constitution and to the God upon which that document and the Declaration of Independence, based on goodness and our pursuit of happiness, has guided and protected us for 250 years, and is the key to keeping our joy, happiness, freedom and prosperity, hopefully for the next 250 years, but only if we keep our heads on straight and stand tall against those Communist forces stealthily trying to control our minds, take away our rights and our property and rule over us from this day forward!

Communism, i.e. Socialism has never worked! It never will! It’s an economic system that requires total government control over us and over the economy. It taxes the rich until that runs out. It destroys small businesses. Poverty follows for all but those in the government circle. Let’s not go down that road!

Listen to Churchill's advice! We already have what no other civilization has had – control over our government through our Constitution, its Bill of Rights and the separation of powers that splits power between executive, legislative and judicial which makes take-over difficult! It's a gem in our possession - our freedom and power that document bestows upon us!

But we must exercise it! Don’t blow it! Once control is lost, voting won’t bring it back! Our right to vote is precious! Use it, Don’t lose it! Figure out which party will help us keep it and which one is scheming to take our freedoms and property rights away from us! Vote --while it still means something! Vote!

Our constitutional government is the most valuable thing we have. It is based on goodness; it fosters goodness! Communism fosters the opposite! May goodness prevail -- in our people, in our government! God bless America!
